Dr. Lockwood was born in Council, ID in 1943, was raised in the Portland area, and is the son of Dr. Milton Lockwood, who was a family physician in the Portland area for over 37 years. He graduated from Reed College in Portland in 1964, then from University of Oregon Medical School in 1968. He completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology at USPHS in San Francisco, CA. Prior to establishing Gresham Internal Medicine, he practiced for 2 years with his father, and then served for 6 months at the Veteran's Hospital in Portland. Dr. Lockwood is board certified in internal medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians; he is also board eligible in endocrinology and diabetes. Dr. Lockwood serves both as an elder and teacher at Trinity Bible Church in Portland. He and his wife, Genelle, have 4 grown children, and 2 grandchildren.
Dr. Custis was born in Dallas, Texas, in 1945, was raised in the Portland area and is a graduate of David Douglas High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Wheaton College in 1967 and studied medicine at the University of Oregon Medical School, graduating in 1971. After a 1 year internship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, he practiced medicine for two years on the Navaho Indian reservation in Shiprock, New Mexico. He returned to Portland for a three year internal medicine residency at Emanuel Hospital from 1974-1977. Dr. Custis is board certified in internal medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Custis married his wife, Marilyn, in 1968, and has 3 married children and 6 grandchildren. He serves as an elder and teacher at Trinity Bible Church in Portland.
