The Gresham Internal Medicine Clinic was established in 1977 by Dr. John Custis and Dr. Darrell Lockwood, both board certified internists, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of adult illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol problems, heart failure, arthritis and acute problems such as bronchitis or pneumonia. They also combine the personal touch of a good "old fashion" personal doctor with the advanced information technology in electronic medical records to deliver the highest quality of care. There were two other doctors Drs. Robert Sayson and Wei-hsung Lin, who also served patients in this community with skill and love for a good number of years, but have since moved on. Dr. Sayson joined us in 1992, and left in 2007 to found the Good News Community Health Center in order to fulfill his calling to serve primarily uninsured patients. Dr. Wei-hsung Lin, who joined the clinic in 1996, recently relocated to tri-cities, Washington to join an expanding staff at the Kadlec Clinic. While some patients have found new doctors elsewhere, many decided to stay with our clinic. The heavy workload notwithstanding, both Dr. Custis and Dr. Lockwood are trying to continue the care for patients who have chosen to stay, in case a new doctor to replace Dr. Lin is not found.
We are currently closed to new patients due to above stated reason.
We are located in Gresham, Oregon, on the campus of Legacy Mt Hood Medical Center. Our doctors, medical assistants and office staff work closely together to provide the best service we can in a timely and efficient manner, while keeping the needs of our patients our highest priority.

Changes are happening...
One of the many technology advances being applied to our clinic's electronic medical record system is the ability to electronically send prescriptions to many of the pharmacies our patients commonly use, and receive confirmation from the pharmacy within a few minutes. This technology improves speed and accuracy for the delivery of prescriptions, eliminates errors associated with phone and fax, or with patients losing or forgetting to turn in their prescriptions. Of course, you still need to accurately follow the instruction to correctly take the medication.
Tips for visit
Do you know that our doctors don't "write" prescriptions or lab orders?
At the end of the visit, he will tell you to pick up your prescriptions at the check out window, along with the orders, and a summary of the visit. All are clearly printed out, so you don't need to go through 4 years of college just to learn how to read your doctor's handwriting...
